Title: 88 K75c Rear running light problems
Post by: Pickey on December 31, 2012, 09:09:39 PM
Hey guys I love the forum, I just got a K75 a couple days ago, and I just noticed that the rear running light isn't illuminating when the bike is on, or running. When I turn the key from off, to the first position, the dash lights and the light right above the license plate comes on. When I turn it to the run position all the lights on the back turn off. Both front brake and rear brake levers will light the bulb above the the a fore mentioned license plate light. Both turn signals front and rear work. Any ideas?

Welcome Pickey!

Sounds like your igniton switch have been dismantled, and not put together correct.
The dash light should not come on at the first position, only tail and the one above the headlight.
Both tail (and the one above the headlight) and dash is connected at the ignition switch.

In first position tail and park is powered directly from the battery.
In second position tail and park (and dash) is powered  from the RHS switch assy.

Here (http://www.seeger-sv.de/ANLEITUNGEN/zuendschloss.pdf) is a how to dismantle.

So I took the ignition apart to clean it as per this http://www.eilenberger.net/K75S/IgnitionSwitch/index.html (http://www.eilenberger.net/K75S/IgnitionSwitch/index.html)
When I opened it up I was missing the brass piece that has the hole in the middle!
Looks like I'm getting a new one, thanks for the help.
