I just bought a used k75 with 59,000 miles on it. The machine has a shortened rear shock because the previous ovner was short. I am 6 ft and could use the full lenth stock shock once again. I am wanting to purchase a new shock but am on a budget. Could you please reccomend a decent shock for the bike. I see a few aftermarket shocks on ebay for under $200.
Also I need to tackle the clutch and final drive splines as well as check valvle clearances.

I'm surprised you can find new rear suspension units for under $200. I paid about double that sum for my Progressive Suspension unit, and I did a fair bit of shopping around before I pulled the trigger on that purchase.
As for the spline lube and clutch service, if you do a search you'll find all the info you'll probably need to guide you through those procedures. Good luck.

If your short shock is in decent shape you should be able to get some $$$ out of it, especially if it is rebuildable and or one of the better brands. (ohlin, works, wilber)

Why do people feel need to say rear shock? There's only one of them.

Possibly because there are so many oilheads around with a single front shock on the telelever.

Not picking on anyone, but why do people say "front" telelever shock? Oilheads only have one telelever and it's on the front.

Perhaps because the odd doodad on the rear is a paralever.

Paralever, telelever, front, back, it's all to much to comprehend. Did you know my Ural has 5 shocks? :yow :hehehe

I put the same one on mine, and it works just fine. Probably the best bang for the buck.

Hi Each,
Just posted about changing my "rear" [don't want to upset Chaos :)] shock without seeing this post first. Does the Progressive 412 change the ride height at all? I like the set up of the bike so don't want to change that, its just that the shock is done. I'm on the hardest setting and the back up is spongy as hell. The 412 does seem to be a good price.

The Progressive comes in a shorter version for a lower ride. Easier to get off the side stand. Harder to get up on the center stand. Harsher ride because the shock has less travel. My factory lowered 1990 K75C has the lower shock.

Check eBay - I've had a Works on my 85 and it was fine - also rebuildable when needed.
