Title: 'nother newby numpty question - sidestand, K100
Post by: MartDude on October 09, 2012, 02:47:21 PM
If someone has the time - or already has the image - please could you post up a pic of what the side-stand fixing should look like? On my '89 RT, the bolt that's fitted is like this -

(http://my.jetscreenshot.com/5125/m_20121009-arz9-14kb.jpg) (http://my.jetscreenshot.com/5125/20121009-arz9-14kb)

It protrudes so far through the other side it fouls the springs, preventing them from going over-centre and holding the stand down. I'm aware the side-stand auto-retract is missing (don't think I want it anyway).

Suggestions for a neat solution would be very welcome.

Thanks

Auto-retract is not related.

The later K bikes had a collar(bushing) on that blot with a Zerk grease nipple in it. I'm guessing you have the later longer bolt but without the bushing.

From the parts catalog it looks like the shorter bolt is part 46531451847.
