Title: Yet another battery question.
Post by: WoahGold on October 08, 2012, 01:54:55 PM
I know this subject gets beaten into the ground. But I have a battery question.
Temperatures are starting to drop here and I know the battery in my bike is 4-6 years old and it's starting to show it's age just a tiny bit.
I'm thinking before it gets a lot colder I'd buy the replacement (or at least watch for a sale) so that it's here when mine finally kicks the bucket.
I see that everyone loves the PC680 but when you actually go to Odyssey's website they list the PC925L for my bike.
I see that the main difference is that the 680 is a half battery and the 925 is a full.
Has anyone used the 925? Is it worth the extra $25 or so?

Yes, I put one in a K75.  I'd still go with the 680 though. It weighs less and the terminals are more similar. And it's got more than enough juice to keep a K happy.

(The reason I put a 925 in is that when I bought the bike the battery was getting old and the seller was an Odyssey dealer but all he had on hand was the 925.)

Is it worth the extra $25 or so?

Is it is really only $25 dollars more? If so,  I would  go for the 925. Yes, it does weigh more, but don't you get more cranking amps?
When i was looking at batteries, it was about 75 bucks higher for the 925.

Yeah, when I got my 925 the price difference was quite a bit more. Sounds like a pretty good deal.

I'm hoping it's as good as touted as the colder months are coming up here. But I've certainly had no complaints with mine.
