Title: Rear brake light puzzle

Help please.

1992 K11rs

Brake goes ON when pulling front lever. Lamp worked.

Brake light does NOT go on when stepping on pedal.

Tested rear brake switch with Ohm meter.
Off =no reading
On= continuity.

WHat is going here?

Probably BMU, found in the relay box...measure if you got 12V+ at terminal E2 in the relay socket when pedal is pressed.
If.. BMU is faulty, if not.. check wiring.......in front you could check that you got 12V+ at the harness connector for the switch.

Take the BMU out and short as follows to see if its the BMU or not:

Short the front brake switch wire(Gray/Red) and the rear brake switch wire(Gray/Green) to the rear brake light(Gray/Yellow.)

Short the tail light power(gray/white) to the tail light wire(Gray/Black)

It's in the relay box under the rear of the tank. Relay box layout:
