Title: Headstock Bearing Maintenance

Can the headstock bearings be lubed or are they sealed bearings?

I'm pretty sure mine are the bike's originals, and I'm not experiencing any notching or resistance.

Do these bearings require maintenance or are the best left alone until a problem arises?

They're not sealed.  Certainly doesn't hurt to clean out the 20 year old old grease and repack them.
