Title: Coolant temp sensor junkshow...
Post by: moynistan on September 21, 2012, 04:52:50 PM
OK, I replaced my coolant temp sensor today, and when I pulled it, I saw this:

Pulled it out with a pick and it looks like this:

Looks like a rubber band accidentally dropped into the system(?!), but if anyone knows better please sound off.  I haven't had any coolant leaks in the system that I know of...  Guess i should be glad it ended up someplace that I could remove it so easily?

Cheers,
KM

Its probably sealant from the water pump cover.

Yup, when I cleaned up the timing chain cover, I found the extruded sealant to be the same stuff.  good to get it out at any rate.
