Title: Higbeam indicator light wont shut off!
Post by: Pagman on August 02, 2012, 11:18:48 PM
For some reason, my high beam indicator light stays on even without the key in the ignition (pic attached). The headlight does not come on unless I activate the switch for it. I removed each fuse individually and nothing will turn the light off. The only solution is to disconnect the wires from the positive terminals so the problem doesn't drain the battery, which it has done twice already. Right now I'm cluless and don't know what to test. Any ideas guys??

Unplug the H4 socket from the head light and see what happens.
Sounds like you may be getting some stray current that is trying to follow the path of least resistance.
Unknown where it would be coming from though at the moment.
One side of the indicator is the common ground inside the inst cluster, the other side of the lamp connects to the high beam feed wire from the hi/low switch on the handle bar.
