-
Will it rev past 6500rpm
-
yes it redlins in the lower gears just in top the best i have bean abell to get out of it is 170 kph
-
I asked that because some of the bikes that were made for the swiss market were limited to 6500rpm to limit horsepower and they found their way to many corners of the globe.
Check to see if you are getting full throttle. You can see the throttle as it is opening on the left side just in front of the coils, turn the grip to flat out and see if you can push the linkage any futher than where it stops.
-
:k100rs yes the throttle seams to function as it should and it will redline in the lower gears doesn't seam to be down on power at all just wont clime past 105 mph about
-
:krsb dont get me roung i have bean riding big road bikes sins 1978 and got my ferst k100 12munths ago best all round motourcycle in the world as far as im concernd just wont it to perform the way it should so aney sugestions as to why this state of afears should exeisty would be mour than apresiated and thanks for the advice so far gyes

Does it run out past the 170kph mark in 4th gear I am just wondering if someone has had a play with and maybe put a speed limiter on it.
-
That sounds like a japanese market restriction, were these ever sold in japan?
-
There were a lot sold to Japan and they are turning up in Oz but not with any restriction like that they have a red light if you go over 80kph.
-
no just wont do it
-
what should redline be in 4 how fast thinking maby its geard down .
-
In 4th you should be able to go to at least 180.
-
wont pull 160 redlining in 4 must be geard down
so were would i start
-
mind you it flys to the ton didnt think you could play with the gearing on the like that but must be abel to
-
Definatly gering is doing 8500 rpm at 155 kph in 4 gear so where dus such low gearing come from
-
its the speedo that wont go over 100 not the bike aded a gps to see and the bike go as expected speedo just reads way slow at hy speed anybody know why this my be ? ps its pree 85 seams to make a difference everywhere else
-
Try cleaning the speedo sensor thats fitted on the final drive (remove to clean). It's probably either that or the speedo itself is faulty.
-
ok will give that a try let yous know how it goes
-
clean the sensor bike now indicats 10k les than actuwell speed ie it tells me im doing 100 when its doing 110 indicated 80 atuwell 90 so the error is a consistant 10 k idears ? :dunno2: will strip it downb whem i get time for now i just youse the taco for speed 4000 =100k

Hi, I'm a newbie poster on here but have gained loads of invaluable info as a lurker over the last month or so. My 1994 K1100rs speedometer was reading way too fast but I was able to reset it using the info on this thread: http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=599.0 (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=599.0) - and a GPS to check my settings.
