Quite obvious the TV announcer does NOT know the years of bricKs like you Sir Drake.
I stand corrected, still NEAT to see KKK machines in the Tour.

In 2009 the company that used to provide all tv coverage to the tour bought 15 K1100 Lt's brand new from BMW for camera work specifically for the tour. The K's are a staple bike for the tv crews as they are so stable when someone is standing on the back of them and also very easy to brace the back end of them up to fit the enlrged footrests or whole walking boards on them the tv guys need. I know a few guys now who have 3 or 4 low mileage ones tucked away for camera work.
