Title: Fuel Plus

Does any one know about something called Fuel Plus and how it works? I was going through a bag of stuff that came with my bike and found an invoice from Dec 95 for a Fuel + unit and what looks like clock from a brick.
I think this is the original clock from my bike because it looks used. There is also a sticker that goes on the bikes instrument housing.

Can anyone please help with further information?

It`s two versions, don`t know the difference.

The original version REPLACES the clock assy internal to the inst cluster. Thus limited to BMW bikes only.
The last version used a separate mounted display unit. I have the later one on my '95LT.

Dave has now since quit making the units altogether. He has even let his internet domain name expire, someone else now has it.

The newer version has added 2 temp sensors, outside air and engine temp. The newer version was also designed to be installed on other brand bikes, not just BMW.

The theory of operation is that it measures the fuel used based upon the fuel injector pulses and a known value of fuel used per injector pulse.
It then takes the value of fuel used and subtracts it from value of fuel available in a full tank, and calculates close estimated # of miles/km left to ride before refueling.

My trip computer is a more modern version of this. The original version is a slick install though.

LOL, great comeback. That may be true, but you know what they say about talents and education. "If you don't use it , you loose it".  Keep me posted about your project. You may have another sale.
