A lot of manufacturers are going this route.  Personally, I would prefer a choice.

As you know I am a fan of ABS but I do wonder if the upcomming drivers will not develop some of the necessary survival skills by never driving without all the letters of the alphabet to save them from their own stupidity.
I was talking about this today when my own car got out of shape on a wet and greasy road. All it was for me was just chase the tail and correct without drama but if ESC was present then the driver probably wouldn't even know a correction had taken place and lose that skill.

That is happening a lot.  Not just with driving skills but things like the ability to read a map too.  Pretty soon most folks won't be able to find their collective arses with both hands in a well lit room.

Call me a luddite if you want, but I don't want, nor do I use, ABS or GPS.  But, I learned to drive while driving on snow and ice.  And, to find my way home in a snowstorm too.

If it makes it safer I have no problem with ABS. But I think if you are starting out riding then you should learn on a non-abs bike.
