Title: rear drive seals and spline lube
Post by: jeffhestand on July 05, 2012, 09:32:20 AM
yesterday i even slept in a bit ( 830) and since i did not have to rush off to the softball park i took in on the rear main seal and spline lube i have been meaning to do.. With the help of a tutorial and patience I swaped out the large seal and the o ring and got the unit back together.  The splines looked really good for 68K on the ODO ( if that is the true number ) since the speedo does not work... Everytime i work on my 85 K i am amazed how easy it is to work on compared to Jap bikes i have wrenched on.. German Enginerrring??? Maybe so.. I ll let u know if the unit leaks although i dont forsee that with that hefty seal...

Fix a flaky or inoperative K bike speedometer (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php?topic=449.0)
