I have a 1994 model K1100LT and the left side battery cover has broken its U shaped clip that fits onto the the cylindrical rubber mount behind it. Only one side of the clip has snapped off. Has anyone found a secure and lasting fix for this damage? I have the broken off bit.

Another thing I've done on my K100 which came to me with a broken "hook" is to purchase some magnets and Gorilla glue one to the back side of the cover.
I'll try to get pictures later today as I'm photographically challenged.

I got a set of flat magnets from Ace Hardware. Trimmed off the left over hook and Gorilla glued the magnet to the side cover. I then removed the rubber mount from the bike so the magnet can do its thing.

Thank you for the ideas fellas. Much appreciated. I'm not very good at lateral thinking!
