Title: spline lube with rear drum brake?
Post by: gohabsgo k75 on June 17, 2012, 07:24:07 AM
I'm sure I saw a description on how to remove the rear components that included a bit on what to do with a rear drum brake but can't find it anywhere.  Can someone please point me to that link?

The drum brake doesn't require anything special.  Just undo the brake rod.  Everything else stays in place.  Although it would be a great time to inspect and clean the components.

That and you'll want to take some care with the brake rod dangling that you don't damage it, but they are usually pretty tough.  I think I just wired it loosely out of the way, since it will stay in place when you remove the transmission.
