Title: replacement keys
Post by: Fossil on June 08, 2012, 08:39:31 PM
For what it's worth. I ordered two new folding keys from a well known supplier for my K100rs4v. All was well and good as I had them copied at a locksmith shop. Got them home and both failed to turn Ign. switch. Put them aside for awhile and when I tried them again I folded them and the additional 'key' length allowed them to turn the ign. Cool.

The key I got was a steel blank, and it too had to be modified so that it could get into the switch far enough to turn the switch to start.  Oddly it would turn the switch to the first position, but not the second. I had to remove the whole switch to figure it out though. :embarass:

Yup..same experience.  factory key has more steel after the pivot point... Minor nuisance but it works!
