Title: Blown transmission
Post by: Flick on May 18, 2012, 09:46:56 PM
I lost 2nd and 5th gear the other day. They just spin now. I haven't opened it up yet. I ordered a rebuilt tranny from a salvage yard. It was just odd to suddenly loose 2 gears with no warning.

Much more cost effective to swap than buy parts to fix.  Good trannys out there for a couple hundred.  BMW wants that much for a shift fork.  :loco:

I am swapping trannys. It wasn't just the cost, it was having to wait for parts to come from Germany. And one of these days I may rebuild this tyranny, it never hurts to have a spare.
