Title: detour
Post by: DRxBMW on May 18, 2012, 08:14:03 AM
Ha, DCNR was fixing the washed out sections of Rag Valley road yesterday during our dual sport saga.

Forced to detour on a friggin hiking trail to gain access to the main gate.

What a trip, mud, loose shale rock. None of us crashed but I came damn close several times. My tires are toast for off road, read I'm mounting new shoes this afternoon.

Explored a WILD section of Bald Eagle state forest. Horse trail but seems the rules have changed, as we chit chatted with the warden who gave us the go ahead on the equestrian path. Packed red dirt, yee haw, I'm returning this Sunday.

That particular section of Cherry Run is notorious for eating bikes. Add recent water runoff, mud, you get the picture. Part of the problem was my ch!t ass rubber. Runnin a bologna on the rear was quite interesting trying to achieve traction uphill.

My mantra: one is better off "concentrating" than falling down.
