Hi all,
Is there any difference between the fuel sender unit on a k-bike with a proper fuel gauges vs. a k-bike with just the low-fuel warning light?
Thanks!
-
Since -86 all K`s have a sender unit, combined for light and gauge.

Gotcha - thanks, Inge.
Does that mean it would be relatively easy to add a universal aftermarket fuel gauge (such as this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUN-CP8219 (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUN-CP8219))?
-
That gauge is meant for a sender with higher resistance, than the one we got in our bikes.
The sender in our bike have the range: 3,5 - 110 ohms....full - empty.

Yes, K bike fuel gauges are "backwards" compared to most. However, you can use a VDO 301-107 with the stock wiring:
-
So that gauge would work with an 85 K100?

You could also use my fuel mileage computer, once I get it working. Will be absolutely precise.

Are you mass producing these?

If there is interest, I will. I can also make some kits.

Depending on price I would be interested and I know of a few others here that would also be interested.

Fill this out and let me know. I will be making some this summer. I will etch some PCB's myself, but if I get enough interest, I can make an order, and get some professional, CNC ones.

Done, if you need a beta tester, I'll help write documentation.
-
Any pics of what it looks like and size ? Size does matter :neener:

I'll post some up when I get the prototype done. Should be about 3 x 1.5 x 1 inch.
