Red light beside the low fuel light on a K1100LT: What's it an indicator for?
-
ABS indicator, you will also have one on the right side of the inst cluster as well below the oil pressure light.

thanks Scott. Is there any way to test to see if the light is actually working? Does it come on when the ABS is activated?
-
Both lights will come on when you turn on the ign key. How they flash is an indicator of the status of the abs system.
Before you hit the start button, they should flash together. After the engine is started they should continue to flash together, if not, you are showing signs of a week battery. The abs system is picky about battery voltage.
As long as both lights flash together after the engine is started they will do so until you start rolling and the system does more self test of the sensors, if all is good the lights will go out. If the system see's a problem the lights will alternate flash(same as a low bat on startup).
Duck should have a complete abs diagnostic write up in the lieberry section on this.
