I'd gone to Albuquerque the day before to take my tax stuf to the acct., thinking I'd get back that night, but mother nature had other planz as she so often does. Wife called in the early evening to say that the "driveway" was mudd soupp, so I stayed witha friend in Santa Fe, and decided ti hit the High Road to allow a bit more time for ye mudd to dry out. I hadn't been on it in several years, and never on a motorcycle. All I can say is Whooeee!! If I don't have to get there fast, this is how I'm ALWAYS gonna ride to Santa Fe!

OK, so don't laugh too hard, but this is my first attempt at video-while-riding. (and my first attempt to embed a video in a post) You'll prolly find my riding style the most amusing part :oldguy: I mounted a flipcam to the right windscreen strut. Need to make a little open cell foam cap for it to cut down on wind noise. Towards the end, it would seem that the camera was rattling against the windscreen - gotta improve the mount job.

First time with vimeo - thought the vid quality was gonna be better. Oh well, guess you gotta PAY for that.
Woulda taken more pics, but was too busy RIDIN'!
Lots of little farming villages, each with it's old adobe Iglesia.

Subsistence farming is still the main occupation here in these hills. The folks don't see any need to change something that has worked quite well for generations.
Irrigation ditch flume near Trampas.

Another crappy day in the mountains.

No video, just an error message. I've always had good luck with YouTube.
-
Try again FD, think I finally figgered it out.
-
The link under the lower left corner works but the embed doesn't.
Let me try:

Nope. (FYI: I'm using Google Chrome. Doesn't work in IE either though.)
-
Wow, that's kinda odd. Both my post and yours turned up just fine in Safari. I had tried the embed they give you first, but what wound up working for me was just copying and pasting the vimeo link directly from the browser window.
-
We have a SW mod installed on the forum which supposedly eliminates the need to embed so all you need to do is post the URL. Works fine for YouTube links but I haven't tried it on anything else.
-
Yup, that's zackly what I did. Seems to work fine with vimeo/safari.
-
That wind noise is horrendous. I get the same on my camera. I just dub it out completely and replace it with tunes.
-
Yeah, pretty bad alright. But I'm gonna try an open-cell foam wind-filter first. I kinda feel the engine sound should be part of the viewing experience.

Yeah, I've thought of trying that, just haven't gotten around to it yet. :dunno2:

That's a nice first effort, Taos. We need a vid of your driveway now. +1 on the wind filter but you probably won't need it for the DW vid.
-
Yeah, a driveway vid is in order. But then, none of you guys would ever wanna come and visit :neener:
-
Don't be so sure me boy. :loco:

Looks like fun...see you in less than 2 weeks!
