Title: 85 K100RT Spline Lube
Post by: jeffhestand on April 04, 2012, 03:47:11 PM
Hey everyone- i trust that my fuel pump fix is going to work but.... before i get her licensed or even ride very far i want to do the spline lube. What is the best tutorial for doing this with no manual yet. Also- i used to be a Schaeffers lubricants rep and have a great moly grease for medium speed operations. Do you think it will work? What is the RPM this is turning ?

I have no idea how fast it turns but you could figure it out:

Find an online tire calculator to calculate the circumference of the tire.

The final drive gear ratio is probably 31/11. (It's stamped on the FD near where it bolts to the swing arm.

The 1-5 gear ratios are 4.50 / 2.96 / 2.30 / 1.88 / 1.61:1

At 60mph the engine is turning at x,xxx RPM.

Just do this backwards:

I recently did a write-up on an ABS II K1100RS spline lube (http://www.motobrick.com/index.php/topic,1615.0.html).  Sometime in the next few days I'll do a K75/K100 version of it since most of it is very similar.
