85 K 100- Got the 8 nuts off the flange. Now.. do i pry the pump out .. give it a tug or am i missing a fastner? Trying to install the Purolator non OEM pump. Any tips appreciated. thanks jeff

Jeff you are doing it the hard way if not impossible.
On the plastic flange there are 2 tabs (front and rear) at the top. With index finger and thumb squeeze these inwards and lift the pump out of the aluminum bracket in the tank, then lift pump, plastic and rubber damper out of the tank all in one piece. Take the filter of the lines first and when the pump is out remove the wires making sure the ign is off other wise you may have the first K100 in orbit.
I fell into the same trap years ago and so have many others so you aren't on your own there.

I just did this on an '90 K75. Rick is correct about the tabs.
For me anyway, I found it much easier to disconnect the rubber hose, "downstream" of the filter. Pull that end out first and remove the hoses, filter and pump as one unit. The other hose clamps and electrical connectors are much easier to access with the pump elevated to the filler hole.

thanks to all of you for the help. Used the Mercury Sable fuel pump and modified accordingly and fired it up yesterday. It runs like a dream. Now on to more fixes... thanks again!
