Title: Magazi aux lights
Post by: DRxBMW on March 24, 2012, 02:37:42 PM
Bored on a rainy weekend.

In search mode for a pair of aux lights for my GS.

Magazi's from Taiwan look interesting, basically a Touratech clone minus $220.

Choice of round or square body styles. Placed a bid, wish me luck.

I'm still waiting for the Chinese to come out with some inexpensive HID aux lights.  If they can do upgrade kits for $50 it can't cost that much more to put them in a housing and sell them for <$100/pair.

How many dollars are the Catz orange lights ?  35 W ?

kinda like the different color for conspicuousness factor.

They're 70W each.

Back when Johnny and I got them they were <$100/pair and came with an extra set of bulbs.  Jeff's now selling them for $187.50 shipped. (Though you can get a slightly better deal if you send him a money order and do the deal off-eBay so he doesn't get hit with all of the fees.)

Having ridden with them for several years I'd still probably but them at that price.  It's AMAZING how the weird orange color of them catches people's attention - even in their peripheral vision.

(They're really good lights in the fog too if you have them aimed correctly.)

I think I'm going to try this (http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?38090-Ultimate-Hella-MICRO-DE-FOG-Upgrade-Halogen-to-HID-(56k-big-no-no)) for my K75.
