Hi everybody,
I'm taking apart my steering head tomorrow -- my bike's developed twitch at low speeds, and turning the bars from lock to lock causes scratchy/squeaky noises to come out.
Hoping I don't have to replace the bearings -- they're not expensive, I just don't want to use the time.
My question is, what is the appropriate grease to use on the bearings?
-
I usually use brake caliper grease. Very sticky.
-
I use Mobil 1 synthetic bearing grease.
-
I used some moly laden wheel bearing grease I had lying around the garage. :dunno2:
-
mines steering head bearings were pre lubed conical roller bearings...
butts is did drizzle some mobile 2 on theres... you knows its twice as good as 1...
expensive gas... expensive oil... expensive tires... expensive steering head bearings... ride it till it wont move...
