Should I be able to start the bike with the side stand down and trany in neutral????
-
No, then you must bypass the switch.

If the side stand switch has been jumped, but no otherwise.
-
OK, I have two friends who have a R1150 and a Yamaha. Their bikes will start on the side stand and in neutral. It doesn't bother me at this point. I have had the bike for awhile, though at times it would be nice to start it on the side stand. Oh well....

Buy part # 61121459998 CONTACT RING to bypass the switch, and you can do as your friends.
(But don`t blame me, if you ride away with the sidestand down).

No I'm going to leave it just as it is.
-
Pick up that part just in case. Someday your bike won't start and its a quick trouble shoot to by pass the side stand switch. Those switches can be a little flaky.;)
