Title: digital fingerprinting
Post by: DRxBMW on March 01, 2012, 09:27:17 PM
With Google changing its privacy policy as of today, important to install blocking software unless you LIKE to broadcast all your personal business on the net and beyond. For those of you who use Gmail be prepared.

digital cookies are another concern aka flash cookies,LSO's. Most folks are NOT even aware there stored on a computer.

Gee, just imagine if J. Edgar Hoover could have had access to digital fingerprinting.

Do you personally use these products, Gary? How do they impact your internet experience?

LSOs are a big problem aka flash cookies, but fortunately they are (I hope) not long for this world. I'm hoping that HTML5 will kill off Flash, which is a resource hog, unstable, controlled by a single company, and otherwise NOT A Good Thing.

ETags and Re-spawning are the new kids on the block. Both are capable of unique tracking even where all cookies are blocked by the user and “Private Browsing Mode” is enabled.

NO change in the overall net experience other than websites being unable to track. (yet)

I really feel sorry for anybody who wants to track my web brousing. What a pizz poor life they must have if that is what they want the poor sick bastards getting that for the jollies.
I have nothing on my system that I wouldn't be perfectly happy if the whole world saw and I wouldn't give a rats arse.
They may want it to advertise at me but it's a totally different thing when it comes to getting my money. :deal: :nono :neener: :hehehe

Intrusive snooping bothers me even with nothing to hide.

You might be surprised at the amount of psychology that goes into advertising. Subliminal, most folks tend be real stupid about the way that information is gleaned.
