My new to me '85 K100 RT came with a medallion on the coil cover that says, "BMW 100,000 Mile Award".
Please share your experience getting one of these. I've heard the medallion comes from BMW Motorrad, and a Certificate comes from BMW MOA.
The bike is sitting at 127,000 miles now, but I'm looking forward, positively. :-)

I may be wrong, but I recall hearing that those 100,000 mile medallions can only be had by the original owner and they come through a dealer.

I know that this reply is probably a bit late but I've been doing a lot of work with the airhead community lately.
My stable consists of four BMW motorcycles, none of which were purchased new and I just received my 100K award from BMW late last year. It consisted of a congratulatory letter, certificate on a plaque, heavy medallion and a lighter one with an adhesive backing to stick on the bike.
To apply I had to submit the VINs for each of the BMW motorcycles, initial mileage (I got from the titles) and current mileage to my local BMW motorcycle dealer. Morton's BMW of Fredericksburg VA submitted it and notified me when it was received. I then rode there for an open house and they presented it to me.
The medallion is on my '91 R100RT.

It is a rider award for miles ridden on BMWs, not an award for the machine. My K-bike currently sits at 331,659 miles so I have left my 300,000 mile award on it. I am currently at about 580,000 BMW miles in 41 years on BMWs.
You go through your dealer and must list each BMW you have ridden by last 7 digits on the VIN and the mileage you put on it.
