For testing an Air Flow Meter from an '85 or '86, will 3 AA batteries connected in series (4.5-4.8 VDC) be adequate for the 5 Volt reference source for the flap position sensor (understand series of rectangles)?
Understand I can use a hair dryer at a distance to stimulate the thermistor for air temperature.

For other's reference, here's a great dissection of the Air Flow Meter: https://www.k100-forum.com/t11055-bosch-air-flow-meter-restoration-summary

You could probably use a 12v to 5v buck converter. That might be easier and they're pretty cheap.
