Title: Mystery ground wire
Post by: John Lang on July 10, 2025, 09:06:02 AM
I am curious as to why there is a brown (assume is it a ground) wire attached to one of the bolts securing the (non-ABS) brake fluid reservoir to the handle bar of my K75. Static release? I just noticed it had been unconnected for a few years. I do not see it on my wiring diagram.

This quote is from an Inge K post years ago. The shorting condition made the throttle stiff to operate.

Early in the life of the K it was some issues with front brake switches that shorted, and the only way
the current could find ground, was through the throttle cable.
So since then (05/84) the K`s got an additional ground wire on RH lever assy.

Thank you, Laitch. So it's a workaround for something unexpected.
