Title: Paste wax VS liquid wax ??
Post by: xcaret on July 09, 2025, 12:34:50 AM
Back in the day ( around the 1960's ) about all you could find was paste wax for your vehicle. There probably was liquid wax too, but I always used Caranuba paste wax.  I cant find it now days , oh yeah on Amazon has some for $35 or so..
What do you riders find the best ( without me spending my whole pension ) ? I have liquid Turtle wax now it shines my bike , but the reviews on Amazon are not very good.

Past year or so I've been using Cerakote paint treatment on the paint and their trim treatment on the plastic bits.  Twice a year for an amazing finish that water really beads off of.

Wax is so 1900's.  If you must, Collinite is considered by many, including the Rolls Royce auto club, as the best

I've been using this FW1 stuff for years. One pass clean & wax with a microfiber cloth. I used to use Mothers or Mequiars cleaner wax but both of those are creams. This is faster and better because it's aerosol. Spray it on, wipe it off. It's got a 4.7 an Amazon so other people like it too.

it has carnuba wax in it if that matters to you. i just like it because it's quick and easy and does a good job.

Or just to muddy the waters up a bit, try a ceramic coating.  DIY or professional, lasts a couple months or a couple years, $15 to a several hundred dollars, the choices are endless!

I'm using Cerakote on my cars now.  Super easy to apply and two coats lasts at least a year.  Going to put it on the bike next.  No more wax for me.

Thank everyone ! In the nick of time I took another look for my Caranuba paste wax , there it was tucked behind random old bike parts. the lid says Blue Caranuba 500, Beauty Shine Carplexion Care ,pure caranuba . It's in a metal can ( imagine that today) .
I googled the manufacture , B&B automotive cosmetics north Hollywood California but nothing came up.. I guess they closed before the invention of the internet . LOL .It's cool being old ( sometimes) !  I still have about an eight of a can left and can make out the faded price tag of $4.95.  Life is good!
