Hello all. I am a new K75 owner and new member.
I live on the East coast of the US. I have a BMW R1200RTP and a BMW R1250GS.
Ive had many others. The only K bike Ive owned was a K1200RS.
I much prefer boxers, but the K75 is a legend and I am restoring this old one.

Good choice as a first real Brick. There is something about that 3 cylinder engine that truly does make the k75 unique in the motorcycle world. Its a bit odd sounding, but not too odd, but it more than makes up for it in ride quality with regard to pretty much zero engine vibration. It's like riding a stick of butter. Enjoy it.

Welcome! As an OG K75s owner, I am still pleased to ride mine since purchasing it new back in '87 (pearl white), now paired with an MV Agusta Brutale 910s (orange). Enjoy; they are fun to work on, especially if you drain the tank and use quick disconnects for the fuel hoses. Congratulations!

Mine is a 1994 K75.
After doing a bunch of work to the bike it now rides well. I still haven't registered it so haven't tested it on the open road. Just up to 35mph on a circular driveway.
It's super smooth. It pulls very strong surprisingly. Has grunt and low end torque.
For the first several months there was a lag or the engine felt like it was choking when opening the throttle.
But after cleaning the injectors and adding some fuel treatment, it pulls great.
It's smoother than the boxers for sure. No surprise there.
This thing starts up immediately. Amazing for a 30 year old bike with nearly 70k miles.
It has sat around a lot, which is worse than the actual age and usage.
All the stock components seem to work. Although I did have to replace the cooling fan, temp/fan relay and I replaced the missing bulb monitoring relay.
Otherwise seems great. The injectors look in rough condition but engine performs well so will leave them as is.
I will say that this might be the best motorcycle support site Ive ever used. So much info here for just about anything brick related.

It's possibly a little too early to start the party until your Brick actually runs under highway conditions, but keep up the good work!

Yes true. I haven’t tested it at highway speeds. But at slow speeds that engine performed awfully before the work I did on it. So that’s progress.

Sounds like you're making some progress. I've owned two K75's and miss both of them. They are amazingly smooth running which is great when you are spending a lot of time in the saddle covering great distances.
Keep us up on what you are working on and don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have. Gotta get that bike on the open road.
