Title: Non-OEM muffler opinions
Post by: schrocketeer on June 13, 2025, 07:41:41 PM
Looking for some opinions on different muffler for a mild Cafe build. Riding with the current open pipe is a bit loud for me riding, even with 32 dB NRR foam plugs in. Putting on the OEM muffler that came in a box with the bike would ruin the look.
Thinking about an Akropovic, some of the beautiful pieces from cafe4racer.eu, or a simple black or stainless cylinder "can". However, not looking for far out, custom welded exhaust that's half the price of the bike.
Pretty sure the 4-to-1 collector is https://cafe4racer.eu/en/k100-exhasut-parts-collectors-4to1/21-collector-4to1-bmw-k100.html (Previous Owner's install).
Would appreciate photos of your bike that's a similar build level.
Thanks :-)

Meh, anything goes really.
Short "can" exhausts/mufflers work best for the cafe look.
Just get one where you can install a db killer because k's are loud. One piece of advice: get a bracket to hold the exhaust because those collectors tend to welded poorly
