Hi gang,
I just agreed to buy a 92 k75s ABS from a super nice seller on ADVRider. I am not in possession of the bike yet, but I am super excited. I am 63 years old and my very first BMW was a K75c I bought in San Francisco in +/-1989. I loved that bike. It was just so "different" from all the "normal" (aka japanese) bikes I had owned. I am not even sure when or why I let it go...probably to get into R bikes.
My first of those being an also-missed Blue/White R100GS, which I traded for a Red/White R100GS/PD. Long story short, 18 or 19 BMW's later, I am back to the brick with this '92.
She has 80,xxx miles with immaculate service and care history until she was parked (not drained of gas) about 10 years ago. Has factory bags, Wilburs shock and Progressive fork springs, original tools, stamped owners books (originally from San Francisco like me :-) She has some rough edges, as can be expected. Gonna need a new seat/cover and tires right away.
She will live next to my 1968 R69S, R65LS, Ducati Hypermotard and Multistrada Pikes Peak (and my Chinese Talaria e-bike :-)
I am torn weather to make here a nice clean mostly-stock rider, or do a scrambler/cafe build. She is black, and I may want to do a color change either way.
I guess when I get my hands on her, she will tell me what she wants to be :-)
Anyway, I am very excited to back to a brick! :mb:

Welcome! Those are some nice bikes, especially that R69S.

Thanks! red r69s is a bucket list bike for sure :-) Not sure why the R65LS pic ended up upside down (other than that I am financially upside down in it LOL

Had an LS just like yours! Really like it but buzzy on the highway. The K75s looks nice and unmodified, and a Wilber shock! Stock ones are getting rare with all the wannabe coffee racers going after nice bikes with a hacksaw then leaving them in the back of the shed.

Thanks! They do look good side by side :-) I am leaning toward keeping the k75 stock as your mention....its is probably too nice/original to turn into a hipster-mobile :johnny

Mark, check your PM's if you want to run out to Marble Falls, Georgetown, etc. Other Austin area riders also welcome.
