Title: WTB
Post by: stokester on October 07, 2024, 03:58:54 PM
As some of you may know, the radiator in my K75S has sprung a leak.

So does anyone have a good radiator for sale cheap?

I see Snowman is selling parts from a K1100LT.  Is this the same radiator as the K75?

You are good to buy one of those radiators off ebay.  They work just fine, I have one on my bike. The thermostat cap was a bit tight, but everything bolted up just fine.  I also installed a Spal fan, which I recommend.

The K75 radiator is slightly smaller than a K100 radiator. A K100/K1100 radiator will not fit in the K75S fairing.

K75 standards, K75S and K75C all use the same radiator.

K75RTs use the same radiator as a K100/K1100 and will not fit in the S fairing.

Thanks Mr. Duck...

I ask because the new ones on eBay advertise ->
Aluminum Radiator For 1984-1997 BMW K1 K75 K100 K1100 LT RS RT USA

It looks like I will be looking for a good used one and replacing the fan with a Spal setup like the one on my other K75S.

It will fit the bike, but might not allow you to put the radiator shroud back on.  I found it on amazon if you are in the US, so you can try it and return if it doesnt fit...its also cheaper than the ebay ones, but looks identical to the one I have on my bike now.

I'll measure mine when I get hom shortly  so you can compare to the stock one to see if it might fit

Attached are excellent photo observations from a post submitted by member gone_ape concerning radiator dimensions, which support frankenduck's assertions.

The aftermarket ones measure 18.125" across. You'll need to see if your bodywork would fit over it.

The new aftermarket not fitting with all the bodywork on is a non-starter for me.

An eBay used replacement is on the way as well as a Spal fan.
