Hullo Guys. Been a long time.
Just got the brick back on the road after an almost 2 year lay up. I put a new battery on it, and guess what…started first time.
That’s even with the old fuel in it.
But it wasn’t ‘normal’ pump fuel. It was Aspen fuel, which is an Alkalyte fuel. It only has 2 additives in in as opposed to pump fuel, which here in the UK, has 14 additives.
Looking forwards to riding it, after I do a small service ( oil, filter,tc).
All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧🛠️🏍

Congrats, and at least your fuel doesn't have corn added to it. Over here that is accused of everything from having almost no effect to causing the collapse of civilization.

E10 has been in the UK since 2021 but like in the USA, there are still available non-ethanol blends.

Yes. But in the town where I live, I think there are only 3 E5 pumps in the whole town. I serviced the bike today, just oil and filter though, as the bike has only done 300 miles since I did them last. Hope to get a few more miles on it now. Over the last year or so, I have been doing a lot of ‘wild Camping’, which is just going camping on private property without the owner’s permission sort of thing, so a bit illegal. However, now I have the Beemer running nice, I may use it for a bit of moto camping. 112350

Enjoy the ride and good luck with the camping, hopefully you won't need too much of it (luck)
One of my bricks sat for five years before I got it, with non ethanol fuel in it. The injectors, pump, and hoses were in top shape, but the two low points of the the tank were leaking. Others that sat with ethanol fuel had bodgie pumps hoses and injectors, but tanks in good shape. Spose it makes sense, fuel hoses at that time weren't designed to withstand ethanol, and although ethanol absorbs water (protecting the tank) it also attracts moisture, and the pumps go rusty.

Thank you. Yes. I have the full tragkorb and top box tank bag set up on my bike, so it may be time to load it up and do a bit of motorcycle camping.
