Title: Starting my collection of K bikes
Post by: ZGougar on July 04, 2024, 06:00:13 PM
Hey y'all!

I'm Zachary from Athens, AL. I've owned a red 1994 K75S ABS for a couple years now, and I recently bought a 1999 K1200LT from my dad. Super interested in learning more about these bikes and how to take care of them. This forum has been extremely helpful to me although it is a little overwhelming all the content on here.

A little bit about me. I've been married for 7 years, got a little toddler boy under 2. I'm turning 30 this year. I work as an electrician/service technician for a Swiss high speed metal stamping press company. Besides my 7 years of work experience in manufacturing electrical/mechanical service work, I don't have much experience with motorcycle and car maintenance, so I plan on learning a lot from this forum.

Welcome on board.

As you will see there’s a big difference between the 75 and the 1200. Not only in the orientation of the engine.

Not sure if a K12 is an actual “brick”?

Let us know the verdict.

99 is a brick.

The engine didn't rotate until 2007 iirc
