My 1990 refresh is moving along at a decent clip with the help this portal.... Could anyone confirm if the R series bikes use the same hazard switch? There are several on fleabay ( learned that term here )...The site has one from a 1995 R1100rs... this one has 2 pin ( no light on switch ) TIA

The 1995 R1100RS Hazard switch will (1) physically fit in the K75 dash, (2) electrically function. As you observed, it doesn't have a builtin light so it won't flash in unison with the hazard lights and the connector from the R-bike will not mate to the K-bike.

It you're referring to the switch in the dash pad and its cable that connects to the wiring harness, Max BMW's fiche indicates that the part numbers differ between the two models although the connectors appear to be the same. That most likely means the wire lengths differ.
Questions of compatibility between parts can be answered by comparing their numbers in a fiche like MaxBMW's or realoem's; if they differ, they're unlikely to work at all or without some degree of modification.

An R1100 hazard switch does have the same connector as you can see here. However, as I noted in my earlier post, the wires on R switches are shorter so, as you can see in this pic, the wires are not long enough for a K where the wires need to go from the dash, down by the steering head and then halfway under the tank. You can get around that by extending the wires.

An R1100 hazard switch does have the same connector as you can see here.
I already received that intimation reviewing the MaxBMW fiche before I made my post, but I admit your photos are comely.

What's important now is that if Atabeach is adventuresome, R1100 leads could be modified, and cost-savings could be diverted to fuel, stamp collecting or other interests. 112350
