Saddlebag recovered! A trucker found it right after it fell off. He was able to flag me down today.
It's a bit battered, but nothing some ratchet straps can't fix.
Take care.
Howdy. I have a bit of a predicament.
My left-hand saddlebag fell off somewhere along the Dalton Highway while riding my K75S to Prudhoe Bay. After many hours of searching, the luggage remains elusive, consumed by the Alaskan foliage.
Despite this hiccup, I completed my run to Prudhoe Bay. I'm now heading towards Key West (aiming for an Ironbutt Ultimate CC ride).
I will be passing through Fairbanks the evening of June 15 and riding along the Alcan the following couple of days. Does anyone along this route have a stock BMW Saddlebag they're willing to sell? I'd be very interested.
Take care.

454,
Sorry about your bag jumping off! I'm headed out west tomorrow to Montana and Oregon and I can, will bring a spare bag. Let me know if that can be helpful to you.

Caveman, thank you very much for the offer. That would be great. I'll PM you with some more info.
I am in Coldfoot, AK; that's about 2,700 miles, ~5 days, from Montana.
I'm going to leave this thread up a bit, in case someone has a saddlebag closer by. Thanks again.

There's somebody in South Anchorage that has the smaller Gen I style for sale (https://anchorage.craigslist.org/mpo/d/anchorage-bmw-k75s-and-k75c-parts/7751399695.html). Here's the difference between it and the one you lost. (http://www.verrill.com/moto/hardcases/bmwhardcases.shtml)

Good to hear that you recovered it.
What tires did you run on Dalton?
Did you see much rain? I hear that's a nasty road when it's raining.

I'm betting Shinko 705s, but I'm betting only conceptual money. :laughing4-giggles:
