Title: Givi tankbag GRT715 (20 liter)
Post by: gkanai on June 02, 2024, 09:52:00 AM: I'm hunting for a decent tank bag for the K75C.

This Givi GRT715 (https://www.givi.it/givi-products/soft-bags-for-motorcycles-and-scooters/motorcycle-tank-bags/grt715) is waterproof, and has a base which I think allows for the gas cap hole.

Has anyone tried this? It's hard to find a tank bag that is non-magnetic and has a mount that fits the K-bike gas cap.

Post by: Laitch on June 05, 2024, 09:36:16 AM: When my tank bag is loaded for a long trip, I can lean my chest onto it for some relaxation when I'm riding at speed on a long stretch of highway, or for stability when wind is gusting. You may discover the bag's height is useful in that way. The Brick's fuel cap doesn't seem to have enough rise to interfere with what is in my bag. To fuel up, I just un-clip the front fasteners and flip the bag on its pad backward exposing the filler cap. If I had a tea service set up in there, doing that could be problematic.

The waterproof fabric of the Givi is a plus. I need to use a rain cover stored in a zippered pouch at the front of my bag. It can get a little hectic in a sudden downpour when I haven't been paying attention to weather.

Everyone either doesnt use a tankbag or has a Multivario- but those are 20-30 years old.

I think this Givi is probably the best non-BMW option at the moment. Happy to consider other ones too but haven't found one yet.

It is now six years old and in good condition being used every day for six months per year. The only other one I have owned was an Eclipse Sportbike expandable 19 liter bag. It lasted around 40,000 miles before its zippers stopped working. Eclipse's website seems to indicate it is not producing much these days. If I had cleaned the zipper tracks regularly and lubed them with silicone grease, I would probably still be using that bag. It was sturdily built.

RKA (https://rka-luggage.com/product-category/tankbags/)seems to be making high quality units, but its products are out of my price range. There are many other tank bag choices in the USA but I don't notice them in use in my region often.
