I accidentally put diesel fuel in my 95 K75, complete fill up. It started by died immediately. Once I figured what I had done I emptied the tank of approximately 95% of the diesel and installed 2 gallons of 87 octane. After a difficult start it ran ok without any noticeable problem. Any recommendations or other problems I should be looking out for.
How did this happen? I selected 87 octane and used the wrong pump nozzle/fill.
Thanks,
Bill

won't be a problem. maybe pull the spark plugs and give them a clean 112350

As blackie has alluded, you've done a classic treacle-and-brimstone–style treatment usually given at orphanages and boarding schools described in Charles Dickens's work. Nowadays, we use Techron. :laughing4-giggles: You've lubricated the hell out of the valves icon_cheers ; use the Techron to clean the injectors and remove residue.

I'd replace the fuel filter too.

Don't overthink it. The diesel fuel left in the system is going to be diluted/flushed to nothing. The Techron is fine for helping to get the baked in oil off the valves/pistons/cyl-heads/spark plugs... so that seems advisable. Otherwise I'd say there is no lasting issue.

A little bit of diesel won't hurt anything. Back in the 60's we used to dump a quart of diesel or kerosene down the carburetor of a running engine to clean the carbon out of the cylinders. The smoke was worse than starting up a Brick that had been sitting on it's side stand.

That was part of the fun! Sometimes, it was even effective, but the therapeutic cloud was always impressive.

Damn right! That cloud was so satisfying. It made you feel like you were really accomplishing something truly significant even if you were only making every flying insect in the neighborhood miserable for an hour or so.

I went through two tanks of gas without any problems. Next I will add the gas additive that was recommended.
Thank you all for your advise.
