My recently purchased 1990 k75s has a side stand that could use some love. Specifically in the "stand position" the spring is not keeping her locked forward. It could be the cam shaped insert has worn...or The fork portion around bolt has loosened too much.....I was wondering if anyone has rebuilt these. This is the older model without zerk fitting. The clutch retraction gizmo is Not hindering in any way TIA

As you may have discovered already, your stands can be lubed through the end opening with a grease gun fitted with a cone tip, at least mine were until I installed a zerk.
It would be helpful for you to post some photos of your side stand mechanism. In the meantime, read this thread (https://www.k100-forum.com/t1281-1988-k100rt-side-stand-auto-retracts#7296) to determine if any of it reflects your situation. This should be relatively easy to sort out.

After deploying it, I always give the side stand a kick forward before leaning the bike on it.

I read the link from Laitch and got to her this morning. The fork was loose and needed some persuading.It could use a bushing but it will have to wait. I removed the lean too much appendage. Rattle can paint….. she’s good to go.
