So I converted a standard to an "S" by buying all the fairing goodies. The Bike came WITH crash bars, Ive since installed lights (very nicely done) ...I would have to modify the Belly pan ( severely ) to install. Anyone out there done this? Photos? Im fine leaving well enough alone...

Looks good but...The bars and the pan need to bar removed with every oil/filter change...unless I can split them without scratching them against the bars... Thanks.

Or just drill a big opening in the bottom of the belly pan. You're already modifying it, that would just make it more practical.

So I will be installing the belly pan and cutting in the bars. I retrofitted a 75c into a K75S…the central clip that comes off lower radiator is used for top of belly pan…apparently. I was using this to secure the fairing grille. This leaves the fairing ( and attached grill ) without a mount in that area. Does anyone have a diagram or photo that shows correct MOUNTING of fairing? The parts diagrams do not show where mounts attach to bike…the kit that Purchased came with 2 triangular “mounts” …one of the parts diagrams shows the left fairing with a mount that I don’t have….

For some reason that would not open for me unless I put in my VIN #. Since my VIN would have been from a 75C I didn’t think it would have what I was looking for…I was looking at “Parts” guidance. Your link opened…thanks

thanks Laitch...What a fantastic resource! Ok so the clip at the top of belly pan...available? I could make one but would probably scratch the radiator grill a million times before I get it right. There is also a plastic shim? Not shown but it either supports radiator grill or keeps them from scratching each other

Crazy as it sounds, I fiberglassed the center joint on the belly pan, and reinforced the sides with a couple stringers. Uber solid structure now, and cutting holes in it would be of little consequence. Removal is easier with the bolt holes lining up perfect. Good luck with your project.

Nice dremel work! If you glass, the non-oriented mat works best, since nobody sees the finish. The woven fabric flexes noticably more, but looks great. I use West Systems epoxy. Cheers

Ok Fellas....since I was not going to have access to my drain plug for a while I decided to do a flush and change. I DID NOT view Laitch's recommendations to add slowly. Now the fan kicks on much sooner than usual...I do not overheat and the temp light does not illuminate..... Will this fix itself? Can I massage the lower hose?....or do I HAAAAAVE to take: the crash bars and the belly pan and the fairing and the tank off....AGAIN? ugh!

The tank and fairing are designed so that by pulling the "C" clips at the rear of the tank with the seat up you can slide the tank back far enough to get to the coolant filler.
You will need to remove the battery covers first, and it's a good idea to put a towel between the seat and the tank when it is back to protect the paint on the tank.
Is the coolant reservoir empty? You may be able to put coolant in it that will be pulled into the system the next time a hot engine cools down. Fill it to the maximum mark, let the engine warm up to operating temperature, and then shut the engine down. Check the tank after the engine cools to see if any coolant was pulled into the engine.
