Title: GPI SWitch
Post by: John Lang on January 15, 2024, 10:06:01 PM
I have the GPI switch off the bike and would like to open it up to clean the contacts in there. Anyone know how to do that wthout breaking it? It must come apart but I see no fastener or screw holding it together. Perhaps it is glued?

The rubber cover crumbled to dust but I will drown it in silicon when I put back on.

Friction is holding it together, John. Scroll down to the heading TGPI switch in this article about a Brick restoration (https://www.kforum-tech.com/forum-area/__Files/k100-Renovation/K100.htm). Heed its caution concerning the switch's containing small parts under tension so disassemble it in a plastic bag or in a box to keep them from escaping.

Very helpful, Laitch. When you pry on the correct thing it opens easily. The solder contacts needed renewal as well. It will be nice to have a neutral green light again. - J
