Title: How to get a stubborn transmission to budge

Place a piece of 2x4 on the peg plate mounting and tap it with a hammer.  First one side, then the other.

Was trying to do this today and all I was getting was a split 2x4.  Decided to give up for the day and think of another way tomorrow.  Maybe a small jack or some type of a reverse toggle bolt system??

Then after I put all the tools away and cleaned up, I read the checklist I printed out and read that I needed to remove 6 bolts from the tranny to the engine.  I checked out my magnetic parts pan and only saw 5!  ARRGH!

Found #6 hiding down in the bottom left recess and now realize that an even number of bolts makes a whole lot of sense structurally too.

Having all the bolts out should help....I think!

Six bolts hold it to the bellhousing, two bolts hold it to the frame.
