Hello,

At last I have the bike running, replaced the fuel pump, injectors and the fuel level float. All from "Euro Motoelectrics", good place to shop, LOL. All fluids changed, filters replaced, radiator flushed etc.. again running great.. EXCEPT.......... I now have a FUEL LEAK from the fuel vapor tube under the bike. It just drips fuel constantly... any ideas on this??? what needs replacement at this point, blimey... Thanks again for any and all assistance you can all provide...

Is this a hose that attaches to a port in the front of the engine, or exits behind the brake-side foot peg? Is the leak in the hose or at the attachment point of the port to the floor of the tank?

Its the hose that exits behind the brake-side foot peg.

Which year was the moto manufactured? Be certain the vent hose within the tank has not disconnected from its port within the tank and is suspended in fuel. Your fuel tank cap might need an overhaul. Faulty cap vents could have a part in this.

How much fuel is in the tank?  The dripping hose is the tank vent and is open in the tank at the highest point.  A tank that is overfilled can have a small amount of fuel come out.

Probably about 1.5 gallons of fuel at this point- riding it to drain the tank of fuel...

1988 bike, upon review my fuel tank cap is crap and not sealing, so this might indeed be the issue.

Man, I am sick of fixing things on this machine, just want to ride, not wrench all the time.

I'm thinking the vent pipe goes to a burrito type thing at the top of the tank which has at least one hole in it. That would prevent siphoning and allow fuel entering to escape. Have a look if it's blocked.

Or maybe the pipe has a hole in it. Maybe blow air in to look for bubbles below the fuel level. Or tilt it to the left with fuel not in contact with the vent pipe, to see if it still drains.

It wouldn't taste good but might be OK to smell, one million petrol sniffers can't be wrong.
