Wonder if I’m the only guy with this screwy idea.     :laughing4-giggles:
Fooling with a plan to support the sides of the tank bag bottom section. Unless it is packed fairly full with stuff, the top section can/does cause the sides to break down. So far, have made a Cardboard Assisted Design template, and now need to find a suitable material for the actual support. Had one brainchild: possibly a correctly sized plastic waste basket donor. The bag is actually built with a slight taper, bigger at the bottom. So the upside down waste basket might be a perfect support former. If not, maybe .032 aluminum would be OK. Anyone here done it?

I just stick the yellow "rain slicker" in there along with some microfiber towels and some other bulky stuff like a flashlight, energy bars, kipper snacks and drinks.  Holds the bag's shape rather well.

In preparation for the inevitable ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, I took some 2" foam and made a custom cutout for my Smith & Wesson M&P 22 Compact with a SilencerCo Spectre II suppressor.  The suppressor helps because, as everyone knows, noise attracts other zombies. With a 3.56" barrel length, pretty much all 22LR ammo stays subsonic.

Being a lefty shooter, I will be able to shoot zombies "on the fly" when fleeing from the zombie hordes on a K bike.

First into the tank bag is my clear, night-riding face shield in its neoprene cover with its arc facing forward then I stuff a rain slicker behind it to keep the hand grenades in there from jostling each other.  :laughing4-giggles:

What about trying this stuff?  If one sheet isn't vertically rigid enough then you could try 2 or 3.

1/8" Ensolite foam might be rigid enough to hold the bag's sides vertical yet protect both the bag fabric and the delicate surface of any ordnance steel objects that find their way into it. icon_cheers

I have a 10L Kriega tailbag on my off-road machine and it flapped in the breeze when it wasn't full. Found a Rubbermaid 1.1 gal "throwaway" tupperware thing slides into it perfectly and keeps that from happening. Dirt cheap.
