Title: need i stress? water drip after oil water pump overhaul
Post by: foliver on March 16, 2022, 08:50:31 PM
Hi all.
well, 200 miles after the oil water pump overhaul ( including new shaft), i've seen yesterday, that after a ride of 12km ( i'm comunting that to work) while i open the garage i see in the floor some drips of water ( from the dedicated hole).
After this stain, no more leaks when parking.
I don't know if it leaks while driving.
It has been a long overhaul, need i stress about that?
ouch!

Foliver, lots of people have had to do the waterpump rebuild twice. I'm frankly amazed that I was able to do it just the once, and followed with a 600 mile day, a week or so later, without any leaks. It's not really easy to get that bearing/seal in completely straight. However, I understand that sometimes a little bit of coolant will leak initially and then stop on its own. How's your coolant level? If it loses a couple drops probably not a big deal. But I'm also a bit obsessive about some things so if it kept dripping, I'd give it another go. I know, not super helpful.

Si tus problemas no tienen soluciones, ¿por qué te preocupas?

:laughing4-giggles:

If the coolant level in the reservoir gauge drops and you need to mop the floor every day, you will need to spring into action. Until then relax; the seal will probably seat eventually.

thanks for your answer Past, i know it's not an easy task, and the previous maintenance has let the internal surface a little scratched, i'll keep an eye on that and may be, as you said i'll give it another go, thanks!

jajajajajajajaj!, you are right but the anxiety is difficult to drive.

I hope it will seat, in some days i'm going to make 600 km ( in 2 days)  so i'll stick a tape on the level just to be sharp about lost quantity.

thanks!!
