Title: Any quick and dirty methods for changing coolant?
Post by: pinhead on March 14, 2022, 10:15:19 PM
I have a 1985 BMW KRT100 and the original owners manual that gives instructions how to change coolant.  Seems like a long process.  Remove fuel tank, drain coolant. put tank back on. start bike and then remove tank again to check and refill.  Kind of laborious for a simple maintenance task.

You don't have to completely remove or disconnect the tank. You can lift the rear of it and pull it back far enough to access the radiator cap.

You don't even need to remove any of the fairing bits or the seat(if it's not a low seat).
