I have a starter switch that activates when I turn ignition on with out touch button. There is no spring back in it as the contacts rest on each other. I have been told that isn't much of a problem since the K bikes have a cutoff of the starter relay when the bike starts. Its like having the starter switch in the key since as soon as I turn ignition on, it starts. Anybody else have this issue? I looked for replacement switches and, of course, none available. I don't see how I can put a spring in the switch to return it to open position.

Hi, the ones that knows more about the bike can jump and correct me, but i've read that in a healthy starter, if you press it once the bike is running, it should increase the rpm, as the "brain" just interpretes that you are going to start it, and add more fuel to the mix.
So i deduce that you are going to spend more gas, and you are going to be lying to the ECU...
If it was me, i'll start a search, even abroad.

The top green cap of your start switch sounds like it broke off leaving the plunger behind. Common problem as the plastic gets brittle with time. There is a guy in Spain selling replacement start switches : http://www.hardtoptire.com/producto-hardtop.php?id=178&id_familia=105&id_catalogo=19 . Find a spring from a Bic pen to replace the one you've lost.
